Wastewater Collections Engineer
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Manage the sanitary sewer collection system rehabilitation activities by working with other CUA departments, i.e. Facilities Maintenance, Environmental and Regulatory Compliance, Wastewater Collections, Engineering and office personnel, contractors and consultants.
• Manage MOM and SSOER programs and CUA's Agreed Order as it relates to these programs and is part of SCOPE-10. Ensure that reporting of the documents for the programs is performed and issued in a timely manner.
• Manage the SCOPE-10 program with our rehabilitation consultant for the next ten (10) years and beyond. This will include developing projects, schedules and costs.
• Work with the General Foreman to coordinate rehabilitation and maintenance activities for CUA personnel.
• Manage and oversee sewer rehabilitation studies and projects. This will involve the oversight or performance of design and construction of sewer rehabilitation projects.
• Prepares or supervises preparation of bid-ready specifications for use in engineering and construction of sewer rehabilitation projects.
• Performing design calculations and cost estimates.
• Maintaining accurate records and writing reports.
• Complete monthly and quarterly reports of sewer rehab work performed by CUA crews and contractors for TEDC reporting.
• Write reports as required by management or regulations and develop capital budget for the department.
• Manage loan documents and plumbing requests through SRF Program.
• Evaluate and make recommendations for the purchase of equipment utilized by WW Collection personnel.
• Other duties as assigned by VP of Water and Wastewater.
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor of Science Degree (four-year accredited college/university) Required: Field of Study Engineering.
• Professional Engineering certification or ability to obtain.
• Three years of experience in Wastewater Collections preferred.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office, Access, PowerPoint, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Working knowledge of wastewater collections rehabilitation and operations regarding construction and C-MOM.
• Ability to lead, manage, and work well with others.
• A valid Class “D” Tennessee Driver’s License.
• Available to work after hours when needed and perform call duty.
